Beautifully mesmerizing, Gina Machovina’s music is a soulful mix of guitar masterpieces and passionate vocal tunes. She is a classically trained guitarist, who loves nothing more than writing music and performing her favorite tunes.

Gina’s repertoire is quite diverse and suitable for a wide range of audiences and venues. Guitar virtuoso pieces by JS Bach, Isaac Albeniz, Fernando Sor, and Heitor Villa-Lobos are seamlessly intertwined with jazz standards, folk favorites, rock-n-roll classics, and dynamic originals.

As a young southern California native, Gina’s romance with the guitar began. Her high school days were spent fervently studying the instrument with John Schneiderman, world renowned virtuoso of plucked instruments. She went on to earn a BA degree in guitar and lute performance from the University of CA, Irvine. During this time, Gina was also an avid concert goer, enthralled with the music stadium scene and Rock groups such as Rush, Dio, Metallica, Jethro Tull, Yes, and Pink Floyd. At age 15, Gina formed, composed and began touring with her own original Rock band, Rising. Guitar music held Gina’s deepest interest for decades…. Then came the children…

Many years later, Gina now resides in Sedona, happy to be playing music daily throughout the Northern Arizona desert. The enchanting addition of rich and resonant vocals to Gina’s music has opened up a host of performance opportunities for her as a soloist and in consort with other fine Verde Valley musicians. From farmer’s markets and art fairs to restaurants, concert halls, weddings, and other joyous events, Gina’s music is always enchanting and uplifting.
